Synopsis

A first-person suspense game where you are a blind child, using wave sonar to navigate through the house to find your favorite toy. All the while you must avoid a demon who is listening for your every move. Be silent, or be seen.

How It Began

This was a game made in less than 48 hours in the 2017 Global Game Jam, in Orlando Florida. Our team comprised of six artists wearing multiple hats, and one programmer who we collaborated with remotely. This Pre-Alpha Indie game was inspired by the prompt "Waves.” We immediately grasped onto the idea of a "seek-and-find" suspense horror game using sonar waves to navigate the environment around you. We are continuing to refine and polish TipToe into a full-fledged demo that is planned to be released on itch.io late 2017! We are very excited to share our game with you, and even more excited to continue forward and create a fully developed game!

Looking Forward

While polishing the demo, the team simultaneously plans for the fully developed game. Though the demo is a simple concept, we continue to develop the story and game mechanics. We have taken a much deeper look into our main character's background and how she became blind, and her abilities as a blind child. This has lead us to drive our game with an in-depth, abstract , and emotional story. There will also be puzzles for dynamic gameplay, as well as an expanded world formed by the depths of our protagonist's darkest fears. With all these elements added, the game will not only be a horror suspense game, it will be an engaging journey of a blind child overcoming her fears, traumas and demons.
